WHY LIVE IN MONTROSE?
Montrose is a unique and special place: a small mountain (population approx. 15,500) city located on the "high desert" Western Slope of Colorado. Montrose was the recipient of the prestigious National Civics League's All-American City award in 2013. Montrose is the main access point to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park to the east. In the winter, Montrose boasts some of the world's best skiing as the travel hub to the Telluride Ski Area to the south. Close drives also offer access to some of finest gold medal fishing waters in the state. What we lack in freeways and traffic, we make up for with genuine hospitality, affordable housing and a great outdoor spirit. The possibilities are endless with hunting, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, 4-wheeling and much more.
