The Position: Ross Reels CNC Machinist

Brief Job Summary: 

To grow on this tradition, Ross Reels is seeking a highly qualified and skilled CNC machinist for a full time position to be filled at the its newly renovated factory in Montrose, CO.  As a member of the production and operations team, this individual must have the ability to safely and efficiently manage close-tolerance work from dimensional drawings with minimal supervision while maintaining production efficiencies and optimizations according to factory standards.

  • Demonstrate an ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team
  • Working knowledge of how to read and interpret manufacturing drawings
  • Experienced in CNC lathe and mill operation
  • Maintaining tool offsets on CNC machines
  •  Ability to read and operate a variety of quality inspection tools including but not limited to:
    • digital or dial calipers and micrometers  
    • height gages, depth gages, plug pin gages
    • optical comparator
  • Ability to use technology as related to work programming/design including CAD/CAM design and CNC programming such as SolidWorks and GibbsCAM Education and/or Experience required:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years machining experience
  • Haac CNC lathe and mill expertise 
    • Haas 3-axis VMC’s
    • Haas 5-axis VMC’s
    • Haas 2-axis lathes
    • Haas 4-axis lathes
  • Mazak lathe expertise
  • Mazak Integrex experience
    • 9-axis multi-tasking
  • Machine change out (set ups)
  • Cycle time optimization
