I've been using Ross reels for years and they're easily the best on the market for both capability and price. This F1 is no exception to these facts and I love fishing with it!!

This is by far my fav Ross Reel and I have a ton of them, fishing here in the great lakes water shed is tough and this reel delivers on everything from start-up to the ultra smooth drag system. Kudos to the design team

I.m in the middle of my second Great Lakes steelhead season with this reel. It has performed flawlessly. A good drag system is so important with these strong fresh run fish and the Ross F1 has never let me down. It is super smooth both on the retrieve and when the drag kicks in. Great design features. Thanks Ross!!

Own two Ross Evolutions for trout and bought an F1 #4 in black to take to the salt and was more than pleased. Ultra smooth and easy to clean at the end of the day! Did battle with redfish, seatrout, flounder and ladyfish. The reel just flat out performs period! I am picking-up another F1 #1.5 in the guide finish this weekend. It will more than compliment the Winston Boron IIt! Thanks to the design team for another great reel!

This reel is the best reel out there, I own reels from 4 other companies and nothing compares to the F1. It has the ability to pickup line faster than anything I have ever seen. the drag is silky smooth and very adjustable.
Now the bad, the clicker broke within 6 months of use. I liked the noise it made, and now I have to send it back in to get it repaired and use some inferior reel from another company.(Posted on 4/17/12)
