I have worked in the tackle industry for years. I have my pick of many reel companies to choose from and still always go back to my CLA's. I own the #1, 2, 3 and 4 sizes and use them for brookies and bluegills to steelhead and pike. Ross is a great company and we always recommend their products to customers.

I picked up this reel last year for my 9wt spey and was completely amazed at the stopping power of this reel when I locked on to my first big steelhead. Im setting up an 11wt this year for Pike and Ross Reels will grace that rod too. Thanks for an awesome time!

I just purchased my second CLA 2 as I often fish two rods one for dry fly the other for nymphing. I have used my original CLA for 3 years with no problems. It's very smooth and I really like how easy it's to palm the reel as I often use my palm as the drag. Great reel!

I purchased a CLA 1 reel for ice fishing, I could not believe the drag, it was amazing and well worth the price. I mounted it onto a Thorne Bros Stealth Ice Rod, never missed a fish, It performed quite well.., beyond my expectations, considering the cold element in which I fished.

This reel has far exceeded my expectations. I have literally spent a fortune on expensive reels for my other outfits believing they must give me an advantage somehow. I outfitted the CLA3 on my 4wt sage esn and I am impressed. I brought in twenty trout nymphing on light tippet all in the 16-18 inch range and wow was that drag smooth. This is my favorite reel. I'm a bit embarassed about my other purchases. From now on its CLA!

bought this reel for a short 7ft 3 wt love it balances well great drag very dependable first LA reel and first ross reel will not buy another brand Company great to talk to and made in USA r reese

I've used the CLA on the boat rods that I provide my clients for years here in Bozeman, Montana. They are durable and dependable. I even drove over the reel with my trailer once and the only thing that was damaged was the spool's handle. They are a great reel for the price!
