Ross Reels

I love this reel. Bought mine used on ebay, it's a little nicked up. I was worried about it's functionality due to it's appearance. It's now my favorite reel. The drag is so smooth. First fish I hooked into was bigger than anticipated, and I was using 6X tippet. Unfortunately I didn't have the drag set right, and a few head-shakes later he broke me off and went his way. I adjusted the drag, and it wasn't long before another big brown gulped my fly. This time the reel flawlessly protected my tippet with the drag set just right. He took to the current and before I knew it I was down to my backing, but I was able to control him and before long he was in the net. I'm positive my other reel would have failed in that situation.

I would recommend this reel to anyone that is looking for a step up from their beginner reel, or even as a beginner reel also. The drag system is amazing and its very smooth.

This reel is super tough. I have dropped mine in the boat, parking lot and other places many times and it holds up great. The pricing is also great because you can afford to get a couple extras or extra spools to put different lines on. Awesome product!

I got this flyrise reel for one season. Absolutely amaizing reel. Just back after Finland north fishing. This reel absolutely pure gold. Just only 100 dollars plus 60 dollars extra spool. Looking forward to get another ross reel for another one handed 8wt rod.

Hi I like the flyrise reels so much I bought me another one for my 8 wt rod I have been rough on these reels and I have landed some big fish with them sure I like to have the evolution lt over the flyrise. But if you are on a budget you need these reels they perform and have same drag as the evolution lt! There is nothing that compares to it in its price range! Also a lot of people say if u drop a cast aluminum reel it is all over with. Well I am here to tell u I have dropped fell in the river with it and mine and it looks and performs good as new! Also backed by Ross's lifetime warranty!

This is a great reel for the money with the same drag as the evolution lt it is awesome for the money! Backed with lifetime warranty and it's virtually maint free! It be hard to find something comparable in its price range!
