Ross Reels

I bought an Essence RX 6-wt S (sw style) last year and found it exceeds my expectations in all respects. I fish it a lot in Florida mangrove environments where casting accuracy is essential, and it sends the fly right where I want it, even against a stiff headwind. I overline it to a 7 in that situation, but it also casts extremely well with a 6 line.

Bought a 6 wt last spring. The RX is Light, fast, and smooth. Outstanding performance. Beauty!

The RX really caters to all types and sizes of fish. It is light, strong spine and provides plenty of sensitivity to strikes. I have caught up to a 27" 8 Lb RB and the Rod provided plenty of strength and enough play to not harm the fish. I love this RX!

I recently purchased the Ross RX rod in a 6 and 7wt and was blown away by the accuracy, line shooting power and quality build. I am selling ALL of the Sage rods and replacing my 8wt, 9wt with thr Ross RX.
This is one awesome rod.

I fished Telluride Co. with a Ross Essence FS in the summer thinking hmmm this is pretty good. It worked very well for me. Than, heading to the Florida keys, I purchased a couple of heavier Sage rods and a 11wt Essence because of the great price. The Ross out-shined the Sage rods in every way.
I was even handed a Loomis to try and did not like it as much.
Consistently, when it comes to blind feel, casting accuracy and shooting line, the Ross rods simply feel fantastic. The RX comes out on top for me.

The Ross RX rods are simply exceptional performers and the best value for money available. I have just returned from Christmas Island where I used an RX 8 weight to catch Bonefish and other species and this rod performed flawlessly, cast accurately, ample butt strength and control. This rod is the great all round 8 weight. These RX rods more than hold there own against all other rods irrespective of price.

RX 905-4 Spent the day on one of my favourite stillwaters "testing" the new Ross RX. "Normally" I am NOT a fan of fast action rods. This one is VERY different from even famous name fast rods. Not only is it light in hand, but has a magnificent FEEL to it that I have only found in $700+ moderate/fast action premium fly rods.
THIS is a wonderful "stick" for my application, trophy-sized trout on the stillwaters of British Columbia's interior plateau.

My second review. Two 18" Rainbows just off the redds came to hand with my new RX. The RX was so responsive there were no breakoffs during the extended tussle. Amazing that such a light fly rod can be so responsive to all conditions. Thanks Ross for this rod.

On a small creek, in about four hours, I caught 19 brown, rainbow and brook trout, 8" to 14" on #20 parachute Adams and a red San Juan worm on this fantastic 8.5', 3 wt. rod. The control, precision of the casts, sidearm casting under trees and willows, smooth feel and ease of playing and landing the trout was, as I said, OUTSTANDING!. Okay, I'm a little hyped, but before I buy a 7 wt., in years to come, I want to be sure to try out this Ross RX rod. One tiny question: There is no fly keeper eyelet by the cork grip. An oversight or is it intentional? Of course, I can adapt. But that does not detract from this rod's outstanding performance—and I already have a Winston 5 wt. B-IIx.
