I was at San Miguel (Channel Islands) island on my boat and was casting my Orvis Hydros and my SageXI3 and decided to cast my friends 9 weight FS Essence and it woked great in the wind and just worked as well as any of my 2 other rods. I caught a number of Calico and Stripers, 8 fish in the 6 pound range 2 biggie's in the 12 to 14 pound range thru the day on all the rods and I went purchased 2 FS Essence rods! a 8 weight and a 9 weight. they cast extremely well!! I'm well off so I can buy what I want! but here's the fact I use these rods all the time and you can barely see the difference between my vastly more expensive fly rods!!! Kudo's to Ross for a really great priced rod that works great!!!!!!!!!!

Out here in Colorado and Wyoming we have a variety of rivers and for the bigger rivers, my 8wt 9' is a dream. Fishing the North Platte through The Mile or Gray Reef you always get wind this rod set up with Ross line on a Flycast 4 really make the fishing good and responds well to 3-6 lb browns and rainbows.

All I can say is Awsome. I fish the 9ft 10wt rod paired with a #4 Vexis. I spend alot of time on the water chasing muskies. The FS series makes life easy. I throw big flies all day and the Ross set up iI have is a real treat to fish with.Great price and even better serivce. Hats off to Ross
