I just want to start by saying that I have used Ross Reels for almost 20 years. Exclusively in the last 15 years. I look back at the many fishing photos and there is my Ross Gunnison, Salt Water and now BG series. I have all of your wide arbor BG series starting with the BG-1. My high use Ross Reels are the BG-5 and BG-6. I have never had a Ross Reel fail and I've used them under some pretty rigorous conditions. Fishing for days without getting a chance to even break down the fly rods little lone clean the reels. I can't believe how much river scum I've cleaned off my reels and then put them back to work with absolute confidence that the drags are going to work perfectly.
I have visited your website over the years and would like to say your instructions for maintenance is exactly right on. Just add clean water. The only "cleaning" I've done is with a tooth brush to get river scum off.
