It was an overcast winter day in Oregon, typical for January.  I made my way down a steep embankment and found the "bucket" that I wanted to fish.  After swinging a few flies through the lip of the run with no takes, I switched to a size #8 cotton candy and made a long roll cast upstream and followed it by throwing some stack mends behind the fly to get it in the zone.  My line came tight as it quartered below me and the sound of my Ross Momentum LT began to echo off the canyon walls.  I felt the large head shakes and saw the flash of red
as the fish boiled on the surface.  The smooth drag of the NEW Momentum gave me the confidence to apply the maximum pressure to my 15lb tippet and land the giant male steelhead in less than 10 minutes.  My Momentum LT #5 is the smoothest reel I own.  The line pickup, and free spin, to the reel will pick up 20 ft of slack with one flick of the handle.  I also love the sound of the audible clicks on the reel.  It reminds me of a Rolex watch with the hands that move in double time.  This reel is AWESOME!!
