Constant spray from saltwater and shocks from the boat. That is the everyday torment inflicted on my reels. A typical fishing scenario: a client casts to a school of baby tarpon averaging 20 pounds with a 9 weight rod and surprise(!)... a 120 pound tarpon takes the fly and explodes 10 feet into the air. Only the best reels survive. A reel is never too strong or too durable in saltwater, and I still like them very light weight and easy to disassemble. This is why I trust the Ross reel without compromise.
